2007 was very much the best year in Tolkien book publications since 1992. It all began with some celebration editions for 70 years The Hobbit and 25 years Mr. Bliss. While we all expected a 30 anniversary edition of The Silmarillion we received something completely new: The Children of Hurin. Christopher Tolkien did edit and stitch together the tale of Children of Hurin, has it illustrated by Alan Lee and released it in various formats, ranging from paperback to super deluxe signed limited editions. It was a moment of great joy for all Tolkien fans and it is a year we will all remember for a very long time to come. We also so released the deluxe Tolkien collection and The History of the Hobbit by John D. Rateliff. Also in 2007 we saw the publication of some high quality editions by Walking Tree Publishers.
