Harper Collins Unveils J.R.R. Tolkien Deluxe Edition Collection

The weather is slowly getting colder and you can feel winter coming. The end of the year is near and soon we will be buying Christmas gifts once again. Also Harper Collins feels it is time to have some special editions ready and so they announced this week the J.R.R. Tolkien Deluxe Edition Collection. It comprises the deluxe editions of The Children of Hurin, The Silmarillion, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

As for now I don't have any information if this set will be just the four deluxe editions or if it will be released as a boxed set. This seems highly improbable, since they are already slipcased.

Once I have more information on the impressions that will be inside this set, I'll post it here. This set makes a very fine Christmas present for sure!

[EDIT: I have just received some information on the Deluxe Edition collection. It will be limited to only 500 copies AND are being put into an outer slipcase. It will be cheaper to buy as a set than individually. They will go on sale together with the limited Super Deluxe Children of Hurin and I will soon announce where to obtain them.

The four deluxe editions in the collection are not signed - it's just a convenient and cost-effective way to buy the deluxe editions.

The Hobbit, The Silmarillion and The Children of Hurin come from the first printings of the deluxe editions, though The Lord of the Rings, because it has been so popular, even for £100, is now in its third printing.]
