LINE PARTY 9:30 AM
- It's around 43 degrees (centigrade) and the skies are overcast.
The first person (from Russia) got in line at 4am! Person #6 in line came all the way from Houston just for this. About 60 people in line right now. We are going to start trivia soon. About to hand out bookmarks and posters. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast this morning courtesy of theonering!
Line Party 10:30 AM
Just finished round 1 of trivia for T-shirts. People enjoyed themselves. Now we are handing out Sideshow gift cards to everyone. Next will be round 2 of trivia to win the LOTR games!
Line Party 11:45 AM
It is starting to rain but the line outside the Barnes and Noble store goes around block.
They'll keep to 2 book max but will let people get back in line if signed books are available.
There was a crowd around the person reading from LOTR while we waited for the event to start. Despite the weather everyone seems to be excited and it has been a lot of fun all morning with all the Tolkien trivia and the fun giveaways.
Line Party 1:00 PM
We sold out all available signed copies of The Children of HURIN in an hour... The store has been getting calls from around the world.
As mentioned in my earlier report the first in line were two guys who came from Russia for the event (they had been in line since 4 am).....the couple who came from houston...the guy who drove down from Boston...the several families with young kids who were in line.
Not even the weather could stop the fans. This was a lot of fun and it was great to be with the fans.
