Bound in blue cloth with the stamping and decoration the same as that of eventually used in the finished book.
No dustjacket as issued.

Well-preserved, with light page toning and a small mark near the lower edge of the rear board. A scarce production-stage Silmarillion, retaining its blank dummy pages and folded map mock-up.
