Farmer Giles of Ham, The Rise and Wonderful Adventures of Farmer Giles, Lord of Tame, Count of Worminghall and King of the Little Kingdom, by J.R.R. Tolkien.

This is his second major published work, preceded only by the Hobbit.
Originally published in 1949, this is the 9th impression of the 1st Edition, published by Allen & Unwin, in 1972.
A Near Fine book with original dustjacket (unclipped) in good condition.

The dustjacket is not price clipped, spine sunned and normal wear and smudges. The book has no writing or previous owners names.
The textblock is clean, bright and tight, without any foxing, top edge slightly dusty.
A bump on the top of the front board and bumped corners, also visible on the jacket, that shows the usual wear and rubbing on the edges.

Two color plates by Pauline Baynes, as well as being illustrated on almost every page with her line drawings.

Highly collectable, this is a very nice copy for any Tolkien fans collection.
