This is the 5th impression of the 2nd Edition, or 9th impression overall, published in 1957 by Allen and Unwin.
Decorative map endpapers in Fine condition, bright and clean, no names or writing. Color frontispiece, mono plates, and text block all in Fine condition.
The boards show one bumped corner, with the cloth clean and bright, unmarked. This copy is in its original stated 9th impression, non-price clipped dustjacket in Very Good Plus condition. Has minor loss at the folds, but no chips or tears to the edges, and virtually no loss to the top and bottom of the spine, only minor rubbing along the folds. The dustjacket is lightly soiled with a bit of tanning to the spine. Pages are clean and bright, no tears or stains, no foxing or offsetting.
A beautiful collectable copy. Scarce in this wonderful condition.
