The Hobbit 50th Anniversary Edition, by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Published in 1987 by Houghton Mifflin to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the original publication of The Hobbit in 1937.
This copy is still sealed in the original shrinkwrap, with no scuffs or markings noted.
Gold leatherette with red and green foil stamping in matching slipcase with green, black and gold label, illustrated with full color plates, and monochrome line drawings, maps, top edge stained red-orange, complete with all plates and unabridged.
The photo's of the opened book are taken from a similar copy as this one is still sealed.
It is possible that this is a Book Club Edition as there are no markings to indicate either way to the sealed exterior.
One small bump along the lower edge of the slipcase, did not break the plastic, but indented the edge a bit.
Digital photo's available, inquire if interested.
Other Tolkien books available, include both the UK and US editions, original cloth bindings, custom fine bindings, and Signed/Numbered/Limited Editions.
