The first four books in the 12 volume series, of The History of Middle Earth, comprised of #1 The Book of Lost Tales, #2 The Book of Lost Tales Part II, #3 The Lays of Beleriand, and #4 The Shaping of Middle-Earth.

All 4 volumes in Near Fine condition in Near Fine dustjackets.

Only the lightest of rubbing to the dustjackets, no chipping or loss to any. An outstanding set for the collector.
Allen and Unwin first printings of the first 4 volumes, none of the 4 volumes are price clipped. Points of issue on the 4 books are as follows: No price on dustjacket #2 or #4. Price on dustjacket #3, Allen & Unwin price sticker on #1. No names or writing in any of the books. No foxing or offsetting in any of the books. Volume #4 has a tape shadow on the front free endpaper from the original dustjacket protector. All of the others clean and bright, unfoxed, and unmarked.

The first four books, published by Allen & Unwin have the topstain on the top edge.

Housed in a custom slipcase to show and protect these lovely copies.
