Vol I: The Fellowship of the Ring is a 2nd impression published in 1967.
Vol II: The Two Towers is a 2nd impression published in 1967, and
Vol III: The Return of the King is a 1st impression, published in 1966.
Title of The Return of the King, on the inner flap, was misprinted by the printers, and is blocked out with the correct title printed above (1st State). The dustjackets are not price clipped, with a small closed tear at the top of the spine of the Return of the King, all Very Good Plus or better.
All three volumes are in Near Fine condition, clean red boards, bright untarnished gilt, with unfaded top stain, clean and bright textblock, absolutely no foxing or offsetting.
Same previous owners name in all 3 books, with same owner's bookplate under the front flap in Vol 1 and 3.
Original maps are in still in place without any extra folds or tears noted.
The dustjackets show beautifully with a slight amount of rubbing to the edges, a couple of small closed tears without loss, the spines of all three books are bright without any tanning, but show a slight bit of fading.
Modest price for this set of significant and collectable books.
