The Hobbit, or There and Back Again, by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Published by Allen & Unwin in 1963.
A nice copy of a very collectable book.
This is the Fourteenth impression (overall) published in 1963, in its original and correct Fourteenth impression
dustjacket.
The book and dustjacket are both in Very Good Plus condition.
The only faults are a spill (hot chocolate?) that has dripped down the back panel, staining both the rear boards and the dustjacket.
The spill did not effect the textblock, which is clean and bright, no names or writing, no foxing or offsetting.
The maps show no foxing, clean and bright.
The dustjacket is not price clipped, lightly soiled, with a few minor chips or loss to the top of the spine, along with some light edgewear.
The books cover shows almost no soiling, with the exception of the spill on the back, with the top edges of the cloth, dusty or stained.
The corners are not bumped, and no wear or fraying whatsoever.
A nice collectable copy.
Very hard to find a pre 1965 copy in this Very Good Plus condition.
Digital photo's available, inquire if interested.
Other Tolkien books available, include both the UK and US editions, original cloth bindings, custom fine bindings, and Signed/Numbered/Limited Editions.
