Early 1950's UK 1st Editions of The Lord of the Rings with Original Dustjackets

The Fellowship of the Ring is a 6th impression published in December 1956, that misidentifies itself as a 5th impression, but omits the actual 5th impression date in the publishing history on the title verso.
The Two Towers is a 5th impression published in 1957.
The Return of the King is a 3rd impression published in January 1957.
All books are in their correct and original dustjackets.
This set of books is housed in a custom slipcase with a silk ribbon pull.
A Near Fine set of first editions of this classic of fantasy literature.
The dustjackets are not price clipped, and have no fading to the red lettering on the spine.
No tanning or browning to the spines as is almost always seen. No chips or loss. Some rubbing and very light soiling to the edges.
Only the Two Towers has a previous owners names on the front endpaper. There is some light offsetting on the endpapers of the Fellowship, and a ghost tape mark on the Return of the King, probably from the original dustjacket protectors, long since removed.
The text block is clean and bright, edges are also clean & bright.
The red topstain is clean, with just a hint of dustiness. The exterior cloth is clean, with the gilt untarnished and bright.
The books look remarkable, and the maps are attached, and in excellent condition. A beautiful concurrent, matched set.
No shelf wear to the edges, or bumped corners.
Custom slipcase has protected these wonderful books well over the years. Scarce in this excellent condition.
