, Very Good Plus copy in its original and correct 4th impression dustjacket, slight tanning and fading, no loss, but has a closed tear associated with some wrinkling to the front upper edge. Gilt titles bright with cloth boards very clean, slightest foxing with no names or inscriptions.
The Two Towers, published in 1955
, is a Very Good Plus copy, in a Very Good Plus/Near Fine 2nd imp. dustjacket. Some light tanning to the spine, some foxing and offsetting to the endpapers and scattered thru the text block. This is the true 2nd imp book and dustjacket, as it has the 1955 printing date on the title page.
The Return of the King published in 1955
, is also a Very Good Plus copy, of the 1st edition, 1st impression in its Very Good Plus/Near Fine 1st Imp dustjacket. Gilt titles very bright, boards are clean with a couple of small marks. There is some foxing to the endpapers, but no names or inscriptions. An exceptional set of first editions of this classic of fantasy literature.
The set is all Very Good Plus to Near Fine copies, all unclipped, and virtually untanned dustjackets. The original cloth boards are all uniformly clean on all three books. Only slightest shelfware or bumped edges. Maps are all present, clean and bright, with no tears.
