The 1st Edition of this wonderful book, revealing in pictures and words, how he created the beautiful paintings for the special centenary edition of the Lord of the Rings.  

These images eventually defined the look and feel of Peter Jackson's movie trilogy, and earned Alan Lee an Academy Award.  
This copy is unique in that Alan Lee has drawn in pencil, a full page sketch of Treebeard holding a birds nest in his hand.  Signed "with very best wishes, Alan Lee".  

This artwork was done for a charity auction event in the UK in 2005.  A 'one of a kind' collectable for the Lord of the Rings fan.
