Presenting a rare signed and limited edition of The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, published in 1997 by Harper Collins. This beautiful burgundy quarter leather and cloth volume is housed in the publisher's burgundy clothbound box and is number 116 of a limited edition of only 600 copies.

Created to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first publication of 'The Hobbit,' this special edition features full-color plates and a number of smaller black and white drawings. The book is signed and numbered by the renowned artist Alan Lee.

With a gilt title, gilded page edges, and a gilt image of Smaug on the book and slipcase, this fine condition edition of The Hobbit is a true collector's gem. The slipcase is in very near fine condition, with only a few minor fingerprints from prior handling.
