A beautiful and evocative original painting by Ruth Lacon, inspired by The Silmarillion, depicting Lúthien Tinúviel riding upon Huan, the great hound of Valinor, as they approach Tol-in-Gaurhoth — the Isle of Werewolves, stronghold of Sauron.

The composition is rich in narrative and atmosphere. In the foreground, Lúthien, cloaked in dark garments, rides upon the pale form of Huan, whose strength and loyalty are conveyed through his poised and purposeful stance. Beyond them stretches a sweeping landscape of forest, river, and distant mountains, leading the eye toward the fortified island stronghold in the distance.
