The dust jacket features the classic HarperCollins design with the distinctive gold sun rising over the mountains and the decorative gold runic border framing the top and bottom edges. A particularly attractive and recognisable 1990s HarperCollins Hobbit design.
This edition includes Tolkien’s own black and red maps (Thror’s Map and the Wilderland map), as well as the internal illustrations by the author. The runic border decoration appears to the title and contents pages.

Condition:
A very clean and well-preserved example. The green cloth boards are fresh and unmarked. Binding tight. Pages clean with no inscriptions noted. The dust jacket remains bright, with the gold elements vivid, and is housed in a clear protective sleeve as shown in the photographs.
