- The Return of the King - 13th printing. Includes the original dust jacket and fold-out map of Gondor and Mordor.
All three volumes retain their original blue cloth bindings and dust jackets, with visible rubbing and edge wear to the jackets. All three folding maps are present.

Rare Collectible Edition Set of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings - Featuring Original Fold-Out Maps and Dust Jackets,

This listing is a rare and highly collectible Houghton Mifflin edition set of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, featuring The Fellowship of the Ring (16th printing), The Two Towers (13th printing), and The Return of the King (13th printing). Each volume comes with its original dust jacket, showcasing the iconic illustrations by Walter Lorraine, and includes the fold-out maps of Middle-Earth, Rohan, Gondor, and Mordor.

The original dust jackets show surface rubbing, areas of abrasion, toning and edge wear, particularly on The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers. The Two Towers jacket also has small chips and short edge tears, with spotting on the reverse. The blue cloth bindings retain their gilt titles, with light rubbing and some bumped corners and spine ends. All three folding maps are intact, with visible folds.

Internally, the pages are clean with light toning due to age but show no major marks or inscriptions. The books are tightly bound, and the fold-out maps remain free from tears. Very good book in a turquoise-green dust jacket with surface abrasion, edge wear, small chips and short tears. The general fold-out map of Middle-Earth is intact.

The Return of the King (13th printing):
Very good, with rubbing and toning to the original dust jacket, and an intact folding map of Rohan, Gondor and Mordor.
