The Lord of the Rings (1968 1st One-Volume Edition in Custom Fine Leather Binding with Slipcase)
J.R.R. Tolkien. Published by George Allen & Unwin, London, 1968.
This is the **first printing of the 1968 one-volume edition** of *The Lord of the Rings* by J.R.R. Tolkien — handsomely rebound in full green leather with raised bands, gilt ruling and spine titling, and housed in a custom green slipcase.
The book contains all three parts: *The Fellowship of the Ring*, *The Two Towers*, and *The Return of the King*, including Pauline Baynes' credit for the cover illustration.
The edges are gilt; the paper is clean, lightly toned but free from markings or major flaws. The craftsmanship of the binding is exceptional, elevating this already desirable first printing into a unique collector's item.
One of the most collectible early printings of Tolkien’s work — elevated by fine presentation and condition.
