In original wraps, bearing a "From the Library of J.R.R. Tolkien" sticker on the bottom center of the cover, and a second one at the first free fly leaf.

These are printed provenance labels, not Tolkien's autograph or personal bookplate. The original catalogue identifies this as a copy from Tolkien's personal library and explains that the labels were added after his death during the dispersal of books. No signature is claimed for this copy.
The wrappers are age-toned, with light spotting, surface marks and slight edge and corner wear. The photographed text pages appear generally clean, with some browning to the inner wrappers.
