C.S. Lewis: A Life (Uncorrected Proof)

Michael White.
Published by Carroll & Graf, 2004.

This uncorrected proof is in Near Fine condition. Tight binding, bright pages, no internal markings. The cover is clean and crisp, with only minimal edgewear. A rare pre-publication copy of a major biography.

Michael White offers a compelling look at the life and mind of C.S. Lewis — from his early years marked by grief and war, to his literary successes and spiritual transformation. The rear cover gives a projected publication date of October 2004, an advertised extent of 288 pages and ISBN 0-7867-1376-3.

Biographical works on Lewis, particularly pre-release proofs, remain uncommon — this example includes publisher's advance publicity information on the back cover, referencing Lewis’s friendships (notably with Tolkien), and the upcoming film adaptation of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

A fascinating collectible for any Lewis or Tolkien-related library.

An interesting pre-publication copy for a collection devoted to C.S. Lewis and the Inklings.

A perfect item for collectors of literary biographies, proofs, or Inklings-related publications.
