Bound in plain red wraps, this scarce pre-publication issue predates the first edition and was produced in very limited numbers for internal or review use.

This copy is accompanied by a **laid-in compliments slip** from noted rare book dealer Julian Nangle of Words Etcetera. The wraps are clean and well-preserved with only minor marks; the text block is tight and internally crisp. A stamp to the front cover shows the provisional retail price at the time.
