Sean Astin: There and Back Again: An Actor’s Tale (Advance Uncorrected Proof)
St. Martin’s Press, 2004
Advance Uncorrected Proof of There and Back Again: An Actor’s Tale, the memoir of actor Sean Astin, known for his role as Samwise Gamgee in the acclaimed The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. Written with Joe Layden and issued by St. Martin’s Press ahead of the book’s October 2004 release.
This is the U.S. proof edition, printed in advance for reviewers and media outlets. It includes the full text of the memoir plus the publisher’s announcement of a “7-City Author Tour” and publicity campaign.
In excellent condition, showing only minor shelfwear. The wraparound cover highlights Astin in his role as Sam, with the yellow “Advance Uncorrected Proofs” burst at the front. A nice example of Tolkien-related ephemera connected to the film adaptations.
Uncommon in proof form, particularly with photo insert intact — a nice collectible for fans of the films and Tolkien’s broader cultural influence.
