Uncorrected proof copy of Anne E. Neimark's biography, "Myth Maker: J.R.R. Tolkien", issued in 1996 by Harcourt Brace & Company. This pre-publication edition is marked "For Promotional Purposes Only" and "Not For Sale", and was distributed in advance of the trade edition for review and publicity.

Aimed at a younger audience, the biography presents the life and work of J.R.R. Tolkien in accessible prose and includes black-and-white illustrations by Brad Weinman. This edition retains all pre-publication quirks, including provisional formatting and unfinalized text.

Bound in bright blue wraps, the book is clean and well-preserved. No internal markings or writing. A charming and increasingly elusive Tolkien proof from the mid-1990s.
