An advance uncorrected proof in pale blue illustrated wrappers, accompanied by a Palgrave publicity letter addressed to editors and reviewers.
The letter is dated June 2003 and announces September publication at $19.95. It explains that the book has been revised and expanded to address Peter Jackson’s films and recent Tolkien criticism, alongside Rosebury’s analysis of Tolkien’s literary work.
Condition
The copy is square with light handling wear. A conspicuous pale abrasion or label-removal mark affects the upper front cover and partly obscures the printed proof heading. The accompanying publicity letter is folded and retained in a clear protective sleeve.
A documented advance copy of Rosebury’s critical study, retaining its original publisher publicity letter.
