Unfinished Tales – 20th Anniversary Edition Review Copy
J.R.R. Tolkien. Edited by Christopher Tolkien.
Published by HarperCollins, 2000 (UK Review Copy).
A hardback review copy of the twentieth-anniversary edition, with its illustrated dust jacket and the publisher’s accompanying review sheet.
The HarperCollins sheet identifies the book as a Review Copy, gives a publication date of 2 May 2000 and the original price of £17.99, and asks that reviews not appear before publication. It bears a handwritten number, 12164; this is not identified on the sheet as a numbered proof limitation.
This is described as a review copy rather than an uncorrected proof: the review sheet establishes its publicity purpose, but does not identify a separate proof state.
Near Fine, with clean text pages and a bright illustrated jacket showing light shelf wear. The page edges show age-toning. The review sheet is retained in a clear protective sleeve.
A collectable anniversary review copy retaining its original HarperCollins publicity sheet.
