The Hobbitonian Anthology (Proof Copy)

Mark T. Hooker.
Published by Llyfrawr (CV&M imprint), 2009.

A proof copy of The Hobbitonian Anthology of Articles about J.R.R. Tolkien and his Legendarium, in glossy red illustrated wrappers. The final printed leaf is prominently marked Proof and Made in the USA.

Hooker’s collection examines Tolkien’s names, languages, translations and literary influences. The photographed contents include his discussion of Max Schuchart’s Dutch translation of The Hobbit.

A promotional card for Hooker’s A Tolkienian Mathomium is shown with the copy.

Near Fine, with clean, unmarked pages, a square binding and a straight spine. The glossy wrappers show light handling wear.

A distinctive proof-state addition to a collection of Tolkien’s language and translation studies.
