Tolkien and C.S. Lewis: The Gift of Friendship – Uncorrected Proof
Colin Duriez. HiddenSpring / Paulist Press, 2003.
An American uncorrected proof in illustrated wrappers. The rear cover is explicitly marked Uncorrected Proof and Not for Sale, with publisher publicity information advertising 244 pages and ISBN 1-58768-026-2.
Duriez explores the friendship between Tolkien and Lewis, their Oxford and Inklings connections, their religious discussions and their influence on one another’s writing.
Very Good, with a clean interior and firm binding. The wrappers have light handling and edge wear; the pale rear cover shows age-toning, surface marking and small marks near the edges.
A collectable advance proof documenting the literary friendship behind Middle-earth and Narnia.
