The Lord of the Rings Sketchbook, by Alan Lee, release by HarperCollins in 2005.

First edition of this wonderful book, revealing in pictures and words, how he created the beautiful paintings for the special centenary edition of the Lord of the Rings. These images eventually defined the look and feel of Peter Jackson's movie trilogy, and earned Alan Lee an Academy Award. 

This copy is unique in that Alan Lee has drawn in pencil, a full page sketch of Gandalf.

Both the book and dust jacket are near fine in mint condition, probably opened up only once to have artist Alan Lee make this nice drawing.
