The Story of Kullervo by J.R.R. Tolkien – De Luxe Edition, 2016
A Still-Sealed Collector’s Edition of Tolkien’s Earliest Legend
This de luxe edition of The Story of Kullervo was published in 2016 by HarperCollins and represents one of Tolkien’s most formative early works. Edited by Verlyn Flieger, the tale marks a dark and powerful entry point into the world-building that would culminate in The Silmarillion and The Lord of the Rings. Drawing from the Finnish Kalevala, this is Tolkien's retelling of the tale of Kullervo, ancestor of Túrin Turambar.
