- Jacket has minor chipping and creasing to spine ends and corners; folds and edges show wear with small closed tears.
- Book is in very good condition overall, with original green cloth boards and black decorative dragon and mountain motif. Bright boards with minor shelf wear. Very light bumping to corners.
- Slight lean to spine. Top edge toned. Internally clean and tight. No markings, inscriptions, or bookplates.
- Marbled slipcase is clean and sturdy, adding considerable protection and appeal.
This is a desirable and collectible early post-war edition of The Hobbit, a cornerstone of modern fantasy literature. A solid copy for collectors seeking an unrestored jacket and a complete vintage presentation.
