This book belonged to Michael Hilary Reuel "Mick" Tolkien (22 October, 1920 - 27 February, 1984), who was the second son of J.R.R. and Edith Tolkien.
Michael Tolkien stayed and worked at Stonyhurst from 1965 to 1976. He lived in Woodfields, the last house on the hill. His father stayed with him there on
a number of occasions. Three to four trees were planted in the backyard on his father’s suggestion.
John William Charles Wand KCVO PC was an English Anglican bishop. He was the Archbishop of Brisbane in Australia before returning to England to become the Bishop of Bath and Wells before becoming the Bishop of London. He was the author of many theological and historical books.
