This proof copy only shows a bit of aging, else about fine.
In the publisher's smooth paper wraps, decorated in black on the front cover, with the review stamp to the front wrap, in blue ink:
"Book proof - Published Price - 7/6 - Publication Date - (stamped secondarily in black) 9. Nov. 1967."
Formely the copy of author and bibliographer Edward J. Brown, purchased through David Aronovitz (The Fine Books Company: ABAA); undoubtedly the copy of Miss Amy Ronald, a long-time correspondent of Professor Tolkien (see: The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien).
