All three books are the inscreasingly elusive 2nd impression of the 1966 2nd editions. This was an important set as many of the corrections J.R.R. Tolkien expected in the Revised Edition were missed and so he insisted on an immediate re-printing of the 2nd edition.

All three volumes are in Near Fine condition, clean red boards, bright untarnished gilt, with unfaded top stain, clean and bright textblock, absolutely no foxing or offsetting. If anything there is some dust at the red top stains and front of the text block. But all together in spectacular Very Good Plus or better condition!

No names or writing in any of the books.
Original maps are in still in place without any extra folds or tears noted.

The dustjackets are not price clipped, and all Very Good Plus or better.
The dustjackets show beautifully with a slight amount of rubbing to the edges;
