De Hobbit — Seventh Dutch Printing (1970), Inscribed Copy

Published as Prisma book 529, this is a seventh Dutch printing of J.R.R. Tolkien's De Hobbit, translated by Max Schuchart. The copyright page states Zevende druk and carries a 1970 copyright. Cees Kelfkens's pink cover design is retained, as are the Dutch-language maps. A handwritten birthday inscription dated 1971 appears on the title page, distinguishing this copy from the other seventh printing offered under EV0023.
The printing statement, rather than the handwritten inscription, dates the edition: Zevende druk identifies the 1970 printing, while the birthday dedication was written in 1971. That dated inscription gives this copy a personal history without making it a 1971 printing. The photographed pages also show the Dutch-language maps and the publisher’s credit to Kelfkens.
