The Hobbit trailer debuts online
A trailer for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was released last Tuesday, a year ahead of the film's release. For some the big wait has now officialy begun. It was a bumpy ride so far, but it seems it is now finally going to happen! Read article

The Hobbit Movie Likely Pushed to 2012
Peter Jackson has hinted that production for The Hobbit will be delayed from the original estimate of March 2010 to the middle of 2010. Speaking to German site Movie Reporter, the producer stated the production will be started after scripts for the two films are complete. Following Jacksons statement, there has been a speculation that the release dates for The Hobbit and The Hobbit 2 will also be pushed back. Read article

The wait is over! It has been four long years since Weta last released any new collectibles from The Lord of the Rings. Guillermo del Toro and Howard Shore on road to The Lonely Mountain?
We seem to be some days or even hours away from some official announcements by New Line and MGM. Yesterday the Hollywood Reporter announced that Guillermo del Toro is in talks to direct back-to-back installments of J.R.R. Tolkiens The Hobbit. However no official announcement was made so far. Howard Shore will probably be composer of the new movies. Read article

Academy Award(R)-Winner Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema Join With MGM to Produce The Hobbit, Eagerly-Anticipated Fantasy Adventure Epic
This is the news we were all waiting for and has finally been officially announced. The Hobbit movie will be made. Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema join with MGM to produce it. The two Hobbit films are scheduled to be shot simultaneously, with pre-production beginning as soon as possible. Principal photography is tentatively set for a 2009 start, with the intention of The Hobbit release slated for 2010 and its sequel the following year… Read article
