Dutch Edition of 'De Hobbit of daarheen en weer terug' by Max Schuchart, Utrecht/Antwerpen: Het Spectrum.


This vintage copy of De Hobbit showcases J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic with its unique Dutch cover art designed by Cees Kelfkens, featuring stylized, whimsical illustrations of dwarves and Bilbo on a vibrant pink background. This edition is part of the renowned ‘Prisma’ series, designated as no. 529, and is a translation based on the 7th printing of The Hobbit by Allen & Unwin in 1955.

This book has been read, with signs of wear visible in the form of a creased spine. The cover remains visually appealing, with minor rubbing and some discoloration along the spine, likely due to age and handling. The interior pages exhibit the usual darkening associated with vintage paper but are clean and free from markings or inscriptions, making this a well-preserved copy given its age.
