8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Houghton Mifflin , 1981 1st Thus US Edition, The Silver Anniversary Edition to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the release of the Lord of the Rings in 1954. Delayed until 1981, a beautiful design of silver faux leather with red mountains on the spine. This set is in Very Good Plus condition, with no fading to the red design on the spines, or wear to the top or bottom of the spine. The original publishers slipcase shows a bit of shelf rubbing and wear to the bottom, with a couple of scraps or scuffs to the sides. The text block is clean, bright, and tight with no writing, names or markings. These are a highly collectible set and present beautifully. Digital photo's available, inquire if interested.
